Sedge Wren
An uncommon winter resident, late October - March, in sedge grass areas of the region. They are found most commonly at Tenoroc Fish Management Area, which is located between Auburndale and Lakeland. Up to 30 in a day have been reported there. The LCBC high count of 72 was in 1994.

marsh wren

Marsh Wren
An uncommon winter visitor, November - April, in cattail marshes of the region. Expect only a couple at a time except for April when they are singing. A high count of 31 was reported in April 1999. This bird may breed locally. The LCBC high count of 14 was in 1992.

carolina wren

Carolina Wren *
A common resident of the region. Wrens will build nests almost anywhere. Up to 30 birds in a day have been reported. The LWCBC high count of 137 was in 1996; LCBC 116 was in 1974.

House Wren
A common winter resident, October - April ( early date 22 August), found throughout the region. Up to 20 in a day have been found in brushy fields. The LCBC high count of 88 was in 1997.
