Chimney Swift *
A common summer resident, April - October, throughout the developed parts of the county. Migrating flocks of swifts can exceed 50 birds. Nowdays they nest almost exclusively in chimneys. A Chimney Swift tower was constructed near the Polk Discovery Nature Center at the Circle B Bar reserve which is the only one of its kind in the State.
