Fairly common permanent resident, scarce in winter, mostly found in
PPM. Marshes. High count of 620 in late May of 1999. During the same period in 2006, 385 were counted.
American Avocet
Fairly common, non-breeding permanent resident of PPM. Numbers drop
in the summer. High count of 1110 on April 2, 2006 and 900 an April 2005 and 348 in November 1989.
