Black-necked Stilt *
A fairly common permanent resident, scarce in winter, mostly found in the
PPM marshes. A high count of 620 was reported in late May of 1999. During the same period in 2006, 385 were counted.

American Avocet
A fairly common, non-breeding permanent resident of the PPM. Avocet numbers drop
in the summer. A high count of 1,110 on April 2, 2006, 900 on April 2005 and 348 in November 1989 were reported.
