Mosaic (IMC-Agrico) Peace River Park

This former phosphate mine and Peace River forested wetlands is a 400 acre riverside
preserve located on the Peace River six miles south of Bartow on SR 17
east of the Homeland flashing traffic light. There are picnic facilities,
bathrooms, and a one mile+ boardwalk into the Peace River swamp. You can look for
wintering sparrows in the fields and during the fall migration season, check for
warblers. Short-tailed Hawks may nest here. This is a year-round site
but the fall season (August-Oct) is best. For best results, walk the edge
trail north along the tree line, then proceed to stroll down the boardwalk, which is a great experience. http://www.floridahikes.com/imcagrico
