Common Nighthawk *
A fairly common summer resident, April - September, found throughout the county. Migrating flocks in the fall of over 100 have been seen.

Chuck-will’s widow *
A common summer resident, March - October, found throughout the region. Chuck's are more commonly heard at dusk and dawn. These birds are readly heard but difficult to see, and never in numbers greater then one or two at a time. Thr LCBC high count of 1 was in 1995.

Whip-poor-will
An uncommon winter visitor, October - March, found mostly in pine woods. During March and October both chuck’s and whip’s can be heard at the same time. Visual identification is almost impossible but the calls are very distinct. The LCBC high count of 3 was in 1990.
