Limpkin *

A fairly common permanent resident of wetlands. Almost always seen singly or in small family groups.In July of 2000, a family of 6 chicks and 2 adults were observed on Lake Otis in Winter Haven. SCP has a population of about 22 birds. LCBC high count of 40 in 1991. (SSC)
