Ruby-crowned Kinglet

A fairly common winter resident, the end of October - the first of April, in forested areas of the region. Kinglets are noted for constant wing flipping. Up to 15 in a day have been reported at SCP. The LCBC high count of 190 was in 1988.

Golden-crowned Kinglet
A rare winter visitor. They have been seen several times at the high point of the County at Bok Tower near Lake Wales. The last report there was January 2, 2000. The last records were recorded in the winter of 2006/2007 when two were seen north of Lakeland and one was found near Bartow. The LCBC high count of 2 was in 1987.
