Chuck Geanangel

Chuck lives in Winter Haven, Florida with Wolfgang the cat. For the past 38 years he has been an active birder in Polk County and enjoys traveling the globe looking for birds. His last trip was India, where he added 135 new species to his total. His tally at this point is 4,005 species world wide, over 420 in Florida and most of the birds on the Polk County Bird List. Numbers do not denote expertise but they do show interest. Chuck has conducted ten, year long bird surveys in Polk County parks and reserves and is a big supporter of the Great Florida Birding Trail. He is currently one of the directors of Audubon of Florida Inc. and chairman of the Ancient Islands Group of the Sierra Club. Many of the photos on the pages are with the permission of the famous photographer Reinier Munguia of Lakeland and other excellent local photographers.
